The Gentlemen Curb

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. It’s been a while since we spoke, well more like a couple of days. But, it seems like forever! Make sure that you subscribe to the site so that we stay connected. You can email us too kavah.king@gentlemenscurb.com. We have some information for you, especially if you looking to purchase a car for your teenager.

How To Know When Your Child Is Ready For Their First Car

There’s ultimately going to come a time in every parent’s life when their child reaches the legal driving age and shows an interest in driving, and as much as we’d love to be able to keep them wrapped up in cotton wool and safe from the dangers of the world – and especially the dangers of the road, it’s just not always going to be realistic to make this happen and at some point we have to be able to trust them and understand that they might actually know how to look after themselves and that perhaps that they do know what’s best for them more than we do.

Yes, this is tough, but this is just one of the many parenting challenges we’re going to face throughout the years, so we can either bury our heads in the sand and pretend it’s not happening, or we can embrace it and communicate with our kids so that they’re armed with the best support and information to allow them to make the right decision for themselves.

Of course, the very first thing they’ll need to have is the legal permission to drive in the form of a permit and later a license. Depending on where you live, the legal driving age will be different and so you’ll have to look into this and then see what the necessary requirements are for learning. You can discuss this with your child and see if they’re ready to learn and if so, then start looking into good schools and instructors in your area. The driving test is typically split into multiple parts that involve theory and practical and will include some kind of written test, which you can find some tips here on to see if they’re able to study this and get them familiar with the testing and overall experience of driving.

The next stage once you know that they’re of legal age and are ready to spend time and energy to complete the tests is to actually make sure they’re emotionally ready for the responsibility that comes with being on the road with a car and actually driving, so in this post we’re going to share with you some things to consider when trying to know if your child is ready for their first car or not.

They Have Good Judgment:

Being able to use good judgment is such an important of driving, but also in being a responsible adult, and often teenagers don’t really have the best sense of judgement. This doesn’t mean they’re not ready to drive, but that they need to understand why having a good sense of judgement is going to be good and helpful for them when driving.

They’re Able To Listen And Follow Rules:

Let’s be honest, teenagers aren’t typically known to be lovers of rules, and whilst we can’t exactly blame them for this – since we were likely the same way, it’s incredibly important that if they’re planning to get behind the wheel of a car that they, not only understand how important the rules are for their safety and the safety of others, but that they also follow those rules and respect them. If they’re not able to do this and are constantly breaking rules for whatever reason, then they’re possibly not ready for a car just yet.

They Act Responsibly And Don’t Bend To Peer Pressure:

Another thing that’s likely to be a big problem for younger adults and especially teenagers is dealing with peer pressure. Now, of course not all teenagers will bend to this, but whilst there are different areas of life that peer pressure might be a bit understandable and even tolerable as a part of growing up, driving is not one of those areas due to the extreme dangers. So, if you know that your child is moving in friend circles where he or she is dealing with pressure from friends to act in a certain way or do things to fit in, then you may want to have a conversation with them about this and even lay down some ground rules before letting them get behind the wheel since it’s simply not worth it.

They’re Able To Afford The Upkeep:

Cars are not the cheapest things on the planet, and even if you’re able and willing to buy them the car and help them with the cost of that, they’re going to have to understand that the costs of running a car don’t just magically get taken care of, and they should be able to take some of the financial responsibility for this.

4 Straightforward Ways For Guys To Look Their Best

4 Straightforward Ways For Guys To Look Their Best

In ancient times, many of the toughest men around were also known for paying a lot of attention to their physical appearance.

The ancient Egyptians routinely wore eyeshadow, plucked their body hair, and practiced other male grooming rituals. The ancient Babylonians are known for having taken immense pride in their beards and would bead and cultivate them until they almost touched the ground. The ancient Vikings would spend a lot of time combing their hair out, acquiring precious metal jewelry, and getting tattooed.

Later in history, cultural norms shifted somewhat, so that paying attention to physical appearance was deemed an “unmanly” trait. More recently, though, many men have begun to take pride in their appearance once again, without desiring to shed the conventional masculine ideas of ruggedness, toughness, and strength.

Plenty of articles, and products have been produced for this purpose, including the following personal presentation guides for men: how to get rid of dark circles and under-eye bags, how to maintain a beard line that perfectly accentuates your jawline, and how to pick a shirt that shows off your physique.

If you’re a guy who’s interested in straightforward ways to look your best, here are some suggestions.

The Gentlemen’s Curb

Take Cold Showers On A Semi-Regular Basis

Unless it’s the middle of summer, and you’ve just been spending a good deal of time outside, playing sports, cold showers suck. That’s pretty much all that has to be said on that topic.

The only thing is, cold showers have been growing in popularity recently for various reasons. For one, they do not dry out and compromise the health of the skin in the same way that hot showers do. In fact, bathing with cold water seems to be one of the best overall ways of maintaining good skin and hair quality.

For another thing, there are some anecdotes and some research out there to suggest that cold water exposure may help to improve mood, make the body more resilient to stress, reduce body fat, and more.

On top of that, many men are now on board the cold shower train, specifically because beginning each day with a cold shower is a test of determination, discipline, and willpower, and helps to develop a certain level of “grit.”

While you should be thoughtful about how you take your call showers – for example, if you take ice cold showers, every day, in the middle of winter, even when you’ve got the early signs of a cold, you can expect to get pretty sick – taking cold showers on a semi-regular basis may do a lot of good for your looks, and your masculine traits.

There’s even the example of the Dutch “Ice Man” Wim Hof, who has performed feats such as climbing up Everest in nothing but a pair of shorts, and who credits regular cold exposure and breathing exercises for his superhuman abilities.

All Black Everything!

Go For Short, High-Intensity Training Sessions

There are as many different ways to train as there are stars in the night sky. Some people opt for a “Grease the Groove” approach, which involves training very regularly, but without ever going to failure, in order to develop neuromuscular connections.

Then again, some people like to train with lighter weights, for as many reps as possible, while other people like to churn out a couple of reps with the heaviest weight they can manage.

If you take the book “Body By Science” to heart, however, there are some real benefits for doing hyper-intense, ultra-slow, one-set training routines, to absolute failure.

According to the authors of the book – one of which is a medical doctor – training in this way helps to stimulate the metabolic apparatus of the body in order to effectively clear waste products, optimise muscle mass, stimulate fat loss, and also optimise hormone levels, simultaneously reducing the risk of repetitive strain injuries that often come with more frequent training.

Of course, you don’t necessarily have to make these kinds of training sessions the entirety of your workout regimen. But, if you want to look your best and be your healthiest, there are some good reasons to think you should squeeze in at least one of these intense training sessions a week.

Get Comfortable With Hunger – Try Intermittent Fasting, And Nutrient Timing

Intermittent fasting has taken off as a major trend in the last few years, probably beginning with books such as Ori Hofmekler’s “The Warrior Diet,” which advised people to eat only once per day.

Now, eating only one meal per day is probably not going to be ideal for the majority of people – not least of all because it might mean dramatically undereating, and suffering the very real negative physiological effects of getting too few calories in your diet.

All the same, tons of research has been coming out in the last few years to back up the benefits of occasional fasting. It turns out, for example, that when you fast occasionally, your blood sugar levels improve, your insulin sensitivity improves (which means you’re less likely to develop diabetes), you burn more fat, and you may even have a better hormone profile for building muscle.

Maybe most impressively, though, fasting kickstarts a process known as “autophagy”, where your body breaks down and “recycles” damaged cellular tissue.

Autophagy is thought to play a vital role in a healthy immune system, not to mention also having potential anti-aging benefits.

Skipping breakfast, or going for a full 24-hour period once per week without food – as Brad Pilon recommends in his book “Eat, Stop, Eat” – may do a lot for your appearance, not to mention your health and fitness. It’s also bound to toughen you up a bit, too.

There’s also some evidence that nutrient timing strategies such as John Kiefer’s “Carb Backloading” system, which involves eating all your carbs in the late afternoon and evening after a workout, can have some of the same benefits.

The Gentlemen’s Curb

Stand Up, Move Around, And Be More Physically Active During The Day

Unless you’ve got a physical, blue-collar job, the odds are pretty high that you spend far too much of your day sitting around. The thing is, sedentary living – in other words, being too comfortable, and not moving around enough – is well known to cause all kinds of health problems, to cause you to gain weight, and to prevent you from looking and feeling your best.

In the last few years, there have been plenty of headlines carrying the phrase “sitting is the new smoking.”

The reason for the popularity of this particular headline is that some research seems to show spending too much of your day sitting down causes damage that even a daily gym session can’t compensate for.

The solution? You’ve got to move around more during the day, at regular intervals.

Of course, no one really feels strong, in control, or full of health and vigor, if they spend the better part of every day glued to a chair, lounging around on the sofa, or sprawled out in bed playing games on their phone.

By finding ways to move around more during the day, you will feel more in control of your life, and you’re also likely to be plenty healthier. Of course, this also means that you’re likely to look a good deal better.

If you work a desk job and can’t avoid spending most of your day in front of a screen, consider looking into solutions such as standing desks. This lets you alternate between working seated and working standing up.

Then, also squeeze in regular strolls around the office whenever you can manage it.

Of course, during your free time, you should be spending time physically active – working on DIY projects around the home, playing sports outside, gardening, and so on.

How To Keep Your Work Truck Cleaner

When it comes to laboring work such as bricklaying, scaffolding or landscape gardening, you’re obviously going to be getting your hands (and other places) dirty pretty much every day. It’s not like the luxurious job of sitting in a warm office answering phones and pencil-pushing while sipping hot, expensive coffee and not worrying about the outside. You’re going to be messy most days and in need of a wash – and with that, your truck probably will, too. It can be a real pain in the backside taking care of a big vehicle like that, especially if it’s not something you’re practiced at. However, if you leave it too long, things will pile up and the state of it overall with decrease massively – then what are you going to do? How are you going to work? If you’re not exactly a motor vehicle maintenance expert, you don’t have to worry too much as it’s not rocket science. Here are a few ideas to help keep the big machine smoother and fresher.

Empty Yourself

Sounds like an easy and obvious one, right? Yes, it is, but think of how much of a pain it is to even think about when you have just finished work or are on a lunch break – that’s the time to rest! It might be a chore at first, but getting into a routine of emptying stuff out and cleaning the inside and outside could seriously help the thing as well as clear your head.

Get A Professional

If you feel as though you can’t do it by yourself, you could always seek the help of friends, family or work pals to aid you in some capacity. You could also get professionals to clean it all up for you. Much like some do with their cars, you can get the truck valeted. It might be a few bucks, but it could ease your mind if you’re struggling.

Have It Fitted Out

A way of stopping things from being worse than they can potentially be is to prepare in terms of buying the right equipment. You could look for floor mats, cargo liners, and mud flaps online. There are a load of websites online, such as Husky Floor liners, that you can look through to find the necessary stuff. Protecting the insides like this is a good way of halting any further mess or damage.

Be More Mindful

We mentioned this before, but we know that sometimes with the graft at work, you’ll have to get yourself a quite messy some days. But there will be other days where you’ll not have that real need to quite get down and dirty. A simple idea is to be that extra bit careful so that you don’t even have to worry about taking anything nasty into the truck.

Park Sensibly

Finally, think about parking away from the site or away from any potential mess. Obviously, a lot of the time you’re required to park in the vicinity, but for the lighter days, think about keeping the vehicle as far away from any issues as possible!

Driving Down The Price: How To Cut Costs Buying Your Next Car

No matter which way you look at it, buying a car will always be expensive. In fact, for most people, it’s one of the largest investments they make in their lifetime, often second only to property. For this reason, when it comes time to get behind the wheel or replace your car with something new, it’s only natural to want to save as much money as you can. This isn’t always easy, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s impossible or not worth the effort. If you want to get the best deal when buying your next car, here are nine things that you can do to drive down the price.

  1. Always Do The Research

The very worst thing that you can do when buying a car is arrive at the lot without knowing anything about the vehicle that you want to buy. Without any knowledge of its typical price range, you could end up paying much more than the norm. For this reason, you should first spend some time researching the vehicle so that you know when you’re being offered a fair deal. You should also shop around and leave some dealerships to find out their rock-bottom offers.

  1. Pay With Your Cash

Cars aren’t cheap, which is why most buyers choose to take out some sort of loan to cover the expense. Whether this is from the dealership itself or a high street lender, borrowing money to pay for your car will cost you more in the long run. After all, in addition to the price of the vehicle, you’ll also have to pay interest. Because of this, you may want to pay for your car in cash, if possible. If you have to borrow the money, shop around for the very best financing option for you.

  1. Look At Used Vehicles

The value of a brand new car depreciates the moment you drive it off the lot and continues to do so quickly for at least a few years. With that in mind, used vehicles may be the best option. Whether you’re shopping for a Chevy, Hyundai, or something completely different, you’ll find that gently used options are much cheaper than buying brand new. You’ll also avoid a huge chunk of depreciation, which means that your car will have a higher resale value later down the line.

  1. Speak To A Professional

The biggest concern with used cars is the possibility of wear and tear, maintenance issues, mechanical problems, and other faults. If you don’t know much about vehicles, you could miss these serious problems, leaving you paying much more than you should for a car that’s going to cost you later. To avoid this, you should have potential purchases checked over thoroughly by a mechanic. This will allow you to haggle a better price or walk away if the car is just not worth it.

  1. Show Off Your Status

Students, OAPs, and those with military status are often eligible for discounts or cash back on their purchases. Thankfully, this is no different when buying a car. Because of this, you should look at a few different dealerships online to see if any offer better deals for those with your status. If there’s nothing online that you can find, then give a few a call instead. Just remember to bring along proof of your status when you go to buy your new wheels.

  1. Haggle Like A Dealer

When you go to buy a car, whether it be new or used, you need to let the salesperson know up front that you won’t be taken for a ride. Do absolutely everything that you can to knock the purchase price down by starting with an outrageous figure and working backward. It can feel incredibly awkward at first, but, if you stick to your guns, it can work out ridiculously well. If you’re not good at haggling, then bring along someone that you trust to do it for you or back you up.

  1. Keep Trade-Ins A Secret

Trading in your old car is a great way to knock some money off the cost of your new one. However, you shouldn’t mention your trade-in right away. Instead, hold your cards close to your chest and work to haggle a better deal first. Then, only once the dealer is at the very lowest that they will go, work to get the most for your old car. If you mention your trade-in right away, the salesperson may try to use this information against you and charge you more than usual.

  1. Don’t Purchase Any Extras

A new car is a huge purchase, and, if you pay for it with borrowed money, you could be left making repayments for years to come. For this reason, you should avoid doing anything that might drive up the price. Purchasing add-ons and other modifications are one way to do this. While your salesperson may say that you need a built-in GPS and rust-proofing, you have to remember that you don’t. Their job is to make money, but yours is to spend as little as you can.

  1. Choose The Right Time

Unless you’re on the clock, you should hold off from buying your new wheels until the right time. Salespeople and dealerships have targets to meet, which are typically based on quarterly sales. This means that March, June, September, and December are good months to shop, as lots will be trying their hardest to sell more cars. You can also choose the right time from your style of car. Convertibles, for example, are cheaper in the winter when fewer of them are sold.

Cars are an expensive purchase, but they can be made less so with some thought and careful planning. Make sure that you research every part of the process and educate yourself on your chosen vehicle so that you can go into negotiations well-prepared. You should also avoid any unnecessary extras and consider shopping for a used car instead of a brand new one. As long as you follow this advice, you should have no trouble driving down the price.

The Gentlemen’s Curb

What’s Up? It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. We are back! It’s been an amazing week. We finally dropped the lookbook and I hope that you stick around for week two! But we are back to share some information with you! We are back with some information from Audi.

Essential Audi Maintenance Tips Every Owner Should Know

Owning an Audi comes with a large amount of commitment, especially when you consider the fact that the Audi brand is known to pride itself on making the very best quality, high performing cars on the market, which means that Audi ownership comes with a range of important aspects relating to how you care for your car.

According to the Aldi website, each and every car is created with an incredible level of craftmanship, top-of-the-range tools and the vest best materials possible. Purchasing an Audi is an investment – they can be expensive but if properly taken care of, they should last for years and years, which is what makes the investment worthwhile.

Like all of the world’s best car brands, Audi’s require a certain level of care and maintenance to stay working properly and looking the part. That is why it’s so essential that all Audi drivers are so clued up when it comes to the maintenance of their vehicles – if you want your Audi to stand the test of time, you need to treat it like the quality care it is and ensure that regular maintenance is taken seriously, just like you take the maintenance of your driver’s license seriously, by using resources like https://dmvconnect.com/fl-florida/ to ensure that you are clued up on what you need to do to ensure that your license remains in use.

Wondering what it takes to properly maintain your Audi and ensure it stands the test of time? Below are some tips and pieces of advice that you might find useful.

Invest In Regular Check-Ups

It’s essential that if you want to ensure that your Audi stands the test of time and is affordable to maintain that you opt to invest in regular check-ups for it at your local Audi dealership. The fact is that while you could book your car into a regular garage, if you want your Audi to recieve the very best care, you need to choose a dealership garage, so that the team taking care of your car have all of the skills, experience and knowledge needed to provide the very best service possible.

By opting to have your car reguarly checked over by an Audi garage, you can ensure that if there is an issue with it, the issue is noticed early and can be dealt with more easily. The sooner a vehicle issue is spotted, the easier and more affordable it is to treat, so having regular checkups is essential for ensuring that it remains in a ‘healthy’ condition.

Check Those Signals

It’s essential for Audi owners to regular do a lap around their vehicle to check whether all of their signal lights are working as they should be. Ask a friend to help you check your car’s signals by asking you to turn on each lighting signal in turn while they check that each is working as it should be doing.

Check your turn signals, hazard lights, brake lights, headlights, and main beam, in addition to any other lighting that your Audi may have in its design. By completing this task, you can ensure that your car’s signals are all in good order, before you head out onto the road. As the last thing you want is your Audi getting given a ticket or worse, being impounded by the police for breaking the law and being unfit to drive.

Check Your Oil

If you want to ensure that your Audi is running as smoothly as possible, it’s vital that you understand the importance of checking your car’s oil levels. Take the time to become familliar with your car’s oil level and how you check and change it, should you need to.

To check your car’s oil, use the dipstick. Remove the dipstick from its compartment, clean it and then dip it into your oil tank as far as it will go. The Gentlemen’s Curb

What’s Going On? It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. We are back to share some more information with you. But, before that make sure that you subscribe to the blog. Also, if you have a question or comment feel free to email kavah.king@gentlemenscurb.com. Keep scrolling!

As an Audi fan, you probably think there’s a fair bit of bias here! On the contrary, there’s a reason why this blog is all about Audi and not Mercedes, VW, BMW – or any other car manufacturer. The simple fact of the matter is that this German car brand is the best, it’s better than all the rest!

If you need some convincing, there are are a few reasons to buy an Audi in 2019:

3 Reasons Audi’s Are Better Than All The Rest

Setting The Standards For Car Tech

We all know that technology is absolutely thriving in modern automobiles. But, it’s a fact that Audi is ahead of the mainstream competition. Their latest releases are packed full of some of the most advanced technology you’ll ever see. From making the driving experience much more comfortable to safety tech that means you’ll never be calculating the cost of a car accident ever again; they have everything. It’s fair to say that most manufacturers are simply trying to catch up with Audi at this point. So, if you want a car with tomorrows tech today, then buy an Audi.

A Car For Everyone

Audi just has the most impressive lineup of cars you’ll see on the market. There’s quite literally a car to suit every driving style and one for every type of person. If you need a supermini to drive through cities, then the Audi A1 is perfect for you. If you need a family car, then you have so many options in the form of pretty much everything from the A3 up to the Q8. Fancy an electric vehicle? Then check out the video below to see the new E-Tron in action. Want a supercar that turns heads? Then the R8 fits the bill. Or, for a fast sports car that’s highly affordable, you have the classic TT. There are no two ways about it; Audi has the best roster of cars out there right now, and there’s bound to be an option for you.

Impeccable Style & Quality

Everything about these cars is stylish. With some brands, you almost don’t know what you’re going to get. It could be a hit or a miss; you’re making a gamble. With Audi, you’re only ever going to get quality. Even their adverts are of extremely high quality! I honestly don’t think I’ve seen a genuinely negative review for an Audi car yet. Every single model serves a purpose, and you’ll regularly find a car from this manufacturer in the Top 10 lists for each vehicle type. Visually speaking, every model is absolutely stunning and sets a new standard for how cars should look. The Audi grille and LED lights are becoming iconic, and it’s no wonder that they’re used for so many corporate cars! If you want to look good and turn heads, then get an Audi.

If I had the time, I could go on all day about what makes this brand so unique. But, these are my top three reasons Audi are better than all the rest. If you’re looking to buy a new car in 2019, then there’s really only one place to look.

Saving Face

We’re promised that warm weather is right around the corner but wherever you are in the world, you’ll be well aware of the impact the climate has on your skin. You may not be particularly vain but no one wants to feel the uncomfortable sensation that is dry, tight skin and the impact an icy, cold blast can have on your freshly shaved face.

That’s why we’ve put together this first aid skin survival kit for men who really don’t want to spend too much time thinking about it. We’ve searched health and lifestyle bloggers to get the latest information on skin care and how you can maintain your look while keeping it low key.

Spend A Little, Gain A Lot

You don’t have to spend hundreds on the latest skincare routine but you should invest in some quality products. You wouldn’t buy a second rate phone. So treat your skin with the same respect and you’ll reap the benefits. At the lower end of the budget we recommend Nivea, a tried and tested brand where you’ll be able to pick up moisturizers and shaving products alongside deodorant and other toiletries. If you’re willing to make a little more of an investment then splash out on Haeckel’s Eco Marine Extract Facial Cream. Don’t be fooled by all the natural ingredients, this is no lightweight and will add some serious hydration to your dry skin.

Extra

That might do you but you know deep down that looking after your skin is the way to go so go the extra mile and invest in some exfoliating products. The practice of exfoliating your skin at least once a week will help get rid of all the dead skin cells, help combat dry areas and reveal fresh glowing skin, even when you don’t feel either fresh or glowing on a cold morning.

Make it a part of your weekly ritual and you’ll barely even notice yourself doing it.

If you have a beard then you may already use a beard oil to keep your furry fuzz looking sharp but if not then think about investing. Beard oil does more than tame a few stray hairs, it also helps maintain the luster and shine of your facial hair and helps keep it in great condition, especially in cold weather. The knock on effect is that the skin below will also benefit from a well-maintained beard and feel less itchy.

For the clean-shaven man, protection is the name of the game. Make sure you’re using a shaving product that nourishes your face as well as giving you an easy glide. Follow up your shave with a soothing balm; don’t leave it to the mercy of the elements.

The last bathroom product you bought might have been from the bathrobes for men department five years’ ago but it’s time to up your game and start looking after that face of yours, it’s the only one you have. Nourish, care and protect and always wear sunscreen.

The Commandments Of Motorbiking (Break Them And You’ll Be In Trouble!)

Hogs, lowrider, speedsters, or classic bikes. They are all wonderful in their own way, but one thing is for sure, and that is that you need to know and keep the motorbiking commandments. If you want to keep riding for a long time that is. Luckily, you can find out all about these in the post below. Keep reading to discover what they are.

Thou shalt enjoy it

It goes without saying really, but the key to owning and riding any bike is that you actually enjoy it! Of course, to enjoy your ride you need to be confident in your skills and that it’s what it’s well worth investing in some comprehensive lesson beforehand.

In fact, even if you have a lot of experience out on the road, learning some advanced skill like defensive riding can really help you enjoy your time in the saddle all the more, and isn’t that what it should be all about?

Thou shalt ride safely

Next, when it comes to riding a bike as opposed to driving a car, you need to realize that safety plays a significant factor. After all, you aren’t as protected as you are when traveling inside a vehicle, and because you take up less room on a bike, it can be harder for other drivers to see you as well. Then there are those drivers that don’t respect motorbiker like they should or allow them the same to do what they need to do either.

To this end, the responsibility for safety will often fall on you, not just in the way that you ride but through looking out for other riders and driver as well. Of course, no matter how good you are at this, on occasion accidents can happen all the same, and this can be something that can cost you dearly both concerning your health and repairs that your bike will need after, to get it on the road again.

However, it is wise to remember that even if you are a victim of a motorbike accident you can find a lawyer today that will help you come up with a case against the responsible party. Something that can result in compensation for any medical or repair bills you do end up incurring.

Thou shalt dress the part

When it comes to motorbiking commandments one that you cannot ignore is to dress the part. In fact, dressing correctly not only will make sure that you look as fly as possible while on your ride, but it can also help you be comfortable as well.

To that end, investing in the proper gear like boots and gloves is a great idea, as then you know you can keep your extremities nice and toasty warm. No matter how much the cold wind whips around our as you ride!

That shalt protect your ride from the weather

Lastly, it isn’t just the rider that needs protection from the weather, but the steed as well. What that means is that it’s crucial you have a nice dry spot to store your bike while it’s not in use. Otherwise, your bike may not be ready when you need it, and that really would be a sin!

Navigation Apps

When you are entering unknown terrain, you might want to think about upgrading your navigation system. Find out whether or not the maps you will need are included in your Satellite Navigation system, and if not, you will need to get a professional app. Some of the latest things you can get will let you know of temporary lights and speed limits, so you can make an informed decision on time whether or not to change your route.

Wireless Charging

If you are going on a road trip with your family, or are looking to drive hundreds of miles a day, you have to keep everyone connected and charged up. While you can get a USB or DC charger in the car for multiple devices, wireless charging in cars is one of the best technologies you can use. You will not have to deal with the multiple wires and handing over the devices taking your eyes off the road.

Portable Fridge

Guys appreciate having a cold drink all the time. If you are visiting a hot country, no air conditioning will save you from dehydration, especially if you take regular breaks without a shade. You can have a cooler box, but it is not going to last too long. A portable fridge that keeps your snacks and your drinks cold on a road trip will come useful when you are in the middle of nowhere and need refreshment.

Scenic Camera

To capture the scenery without getting distracted and creating a video of your trip, you might want to get a wide angle camera installed in your car. You can create hours of car footage, in high quality. Your regular dash cam might not provide you the resolution you really need, so invest in a professional model with long battery life.

Taking road trips is one of the best ways of unwinding and taking a step back from your routine. Make sure you are prepared and stay comfortable during the trip by accessorizing your car.

Join A Local Team

Maybe you were someone in school that shied away from doing sports, but as you got older, it’s something that has piqued your interest. If so, and you are someone whose only form of exercise is going to the gym and being by yourself, joining a local team has so many benefits. Not only is it a great way to get out there and play some sports, but there are so many social and psychological benefits to joining a local team. If you’re someone who trains in isolation, you can very easily get into a funk, where you are hitting plateaus and not shaking up your exercise routine. Playing a sport forces you to think differently and you will naturally train other body parts, especially if you don’t focus on the more minor muscles in your usual workout

Don’t Look At Sports As A “Macho” Thing

There’s a lot going around at the moment relating to toxic masculinity. Sports can easily fall into that category because it’s, predominantly, “macho”. Look at the British female rugby teams, they are making a name for themselves. But also, if you were someone that shied away from sports as a child, it’s hardly a surprise that you’ve got this perception of it being a macho thing. By doing sports, you can get an appreciation for how the game is played and this can improve your appreciation of the sport. You could begin to make a few bets on sites like Betting.com or dive in and actually sit down with some friends to watch a game. By doing a sport, and then watching it on TV gives you a more comprehensive appreciation of how difficult it is.

Look At It In Other Ways

If you have a mental block when it comes to team sports, looking at it in other ways, and how it’s more than just a bunch of people running at each other in a field, can give you a better appreciation. It’s not just a physical game. In fact, any sport is a combination of brains and brawn. And as sports like football or rugby are as much about the mental game as it is the physical one, you could use this to your advantage and learn other plays within a specific sport. Think of it as a game of chess- but you’re also using your muscles. In fact, there so many benefits, psychologically speaking, when doing sports. The stress aspect is interesting because you can harness it for positive results. And in fact, this is something that’s not just used in sport, but it’s used in life and business. On InspirationalDevelopment.com you can see how leaders use stress to get better results. And purely from the social perspective, watching sports is a great way to get your heart pumping without even getting off the couch! So if you’re someone who doesn’t have much of an appreciation of sports but you like the idea of it because it gets you fit, learning to look at it in other ways can open you up to the various potentials.

Whether we are stuck in a rigid exercise routine or we feel intimidated by the idea of team sports (or bigger people in the gym), joining a team and getting an appreciation of sports, in general, is a great way to bring down those psychological barriers. This is especially true if you find the sport to be somewhat too masculine and you don’t find yourself in that category. To gain an appreciation of sport, it isn’t just about the physical aspects, but naturally, these are positive by-products. Getting an appreciation of sports by doing more of it can help you in so many different ways. Not just in terms of the physicality, but socially, psychologically, and tactically. Plus it’s just a great way to release some pent up aggression as well! Even if you were the skinny kid in school that was picked last in gym, don’t let your preconceived notions of sports hamper your enjoyment of them. Sometimes it takes a few decades for us to gain an appreciation of it, but you don’t know unless you get out there. So, you may have a great routine in the gym but to truly feel the physical benefits and the mental ones, you’ve got to shake it up.
