I have been an Android fanatic since the beginning. I was so excited about Google’s first phone called the G-1!  I loved the open source market and how Amazon shopping was once integrated into the Android Market. (It’s also bizarre that the port for charger and headset were the same. I hated it then. Now, it seems to be the standard for the phones.)

The Essential Phone

In the shortage of stock Android phones, a company rose and debuted the Essential PH-1. The company is a new company made by one of the first developers of the Android operating system. No logo, no bizarre designs, just a high-quality phone. I was excited! I didn’t understand the marketing plan, but I gave it a shot! I am an Android fanatic as stated, so I didn’t have much to lose.

The Essential Phone

What I dislike about the phone is that some of the “essentials” weren’t considered.
The camera is could be so much better. There are dual cameras, but the mark is missed. The camera is also lacking a lot of features in my opinion. (I will be using my iPhone for the camera.)

The screen is impressive, but there is a camera in the middle! It’s an eyesore. It throws off the dynamics of the phone. The phone also boasts the worlds first 360 cameras for a smartphone.

I have an iPhone 7 and comparing the processing speed in recording the fingerprints. There was a significant difference! I was absolutely impressed. The RAM and memory for the phone are impressive! The phone runs smoothly and I am using 21 gigs already. As of yet, I haven’t received one crash report yet. I purposefully leave as many apps as I can running. And the phone’s hardware is able to run all of the apps with ease.

The phone’s speaker is absolutely impressive. It overpowered the iPhone 7 and the Samsung S8 .
The phone is very sturdy. I dropped the phone three times accidentally and there wasn’t a scratch on the phone. The phone is made with some titanium components. (I am a fairly tall man, so my fear with smartphones is dropping them, but not with the essential phone.) I love the design of the device. I love that the Essential phone charges quickly. It helps especially with blogging and always being on the go.

Team Essential can only go forward from here. A very strong first showing. I am very impressed. The phone reminds me of my Motorola Nexus. Now if I can only find a headset and a phone case because that’s an absolute chore! Great work, I am looking forward to more from the essential team in the future.
