My birthday is July 25th. Yes, Leo Season! I celebrate for the rest of the summer. Some people may say it’s vain, or they don’t understand the reasoning, but every breath of life is to be celebrated. There will be good times and there will be bad times. There will be highs and there will be lows, but you have to enjoy every breath. I want to take this time to thank everyone that took time out of my their day to wish me a happy birthday. Its greatly appreciated. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you. You made this birthday one of the most special birthdays that I have had.
Every special moment doesn’t make it to the internet, but I decided to share this event in particular…
So Missy said that she wanted to celebrate my birthday with me and she chose Habana Outpost. (You would think that I would be able to choose the place because it was MY birthday. That would have worked in a perfect world.) Habana Outpost is a nice summer spot located in Brooklyn, New York. There is an area for outside eating and drinking. It’s a Cuban themed restaurant and the aesthetic is rustic. I agreed because Missy gets what she wants, she is my best friend. We were supposed to meet at 5:30, but I was 13 minutes late. And all of Facebook knew because Missy posted a status about my tardiness. Some friend! After she fussed me out about 13 minutes, we decided to eat. Finally.
To be honest. I am a very picky eater. I have to be comfortable because I have very strict dietary restrictions. So, I had to ask a PLETHORA of questions before I ate. The food was delicious. I couldn’t finish all of my food. The quesadilla mixed with jalapeno pepper absolutely hit the spot. I couldn’t finish the rice and beans, I guess I am a lightweight now.
I loved the decor and aesthetic of the place. It was very Brooklyn. Maybe, I am being biased. There were photos of many prominent Brooklyn people. The place had a real Brooklyn feel. Check out the some of the figures that were painted in the restaurant.
I had a great time. And I appreciate anyone that showed me some love on my day. But, filling my stomach is always a plus. Much love and appreciation to my Missy and my godson Jahsir for helping me to feel appreciated. For those that say that I don’t share enough in my personal life, I am changing that.
