Men’s Grooming Tips You Need To Know

As a man, we often seem to get a reputation for being skinny and gross, and most of the time that’s not true at all. Sure, we might leave wet towels on the floor now and again and forget to wash up after we’ve eaten, but generally, we can still look after ourselves just fine. If you fancy making sure your body and self-stay in tip-top shape this year, one great idea would be to follow a better grooming regime and take more time to look after our body, and today we have a few tips for you and things you should be doing each day to stay in tip-top shape.

Treat Your Scalp Well

The scalps is often a long forgotten area of the head (unless you’re bald, of course) and many of us don’t really take the time to make sure the scalp is as healthy as it should be. Our scalp just like any other part of our skin needs moisture and it needs to be kept clean. You can keep it clean with a good rinse of apple cider vinegar after a shower, and you can make sure it stays hydrated with a shampoo such as head and shoulders. It will prevent dandruff and also stop your scalp from becoming irritated and itchy.

Groom Your Beard

A beard is a huge part of your face, literally, and a lot of the time we take it for granted. If you want to make sure you always look sharp and your beard is magnificent, there are a few things you will want to make sure that you do. First of all, trim the edges. You can look into different razor options and read more here about which one suits you best, but clean edges can make all the difference with a beard. Second of all, you can think about trimming the length itself. There are plenty of great trimmers out there to do the job for you and a trim can really make your beard look much tidier. And finally, to make your beard thick and shiny you can use oil to moisturize the strands!

Yes, we know… it’s not a gentleman’s prerogative to talk pubes, but sometimes it has to be done. If you want to keep things nice and tidy down there, you can use a trimmer in the same way as you would for your face and trimming the length of this will make a massive difference to your down under overall!

Trim Nose And Ear Hair

Nose and ear hair are likely the banes of your life as you grow older and they seem to grow endlessly no matter how much you try to keep them tidy. A great little gadget for it is a small trimmer which will allow you to reach into the ears and nose and trim the hairs once a week or so to stop them from growing too much. It sure beats having to worry about plucking one out in front of the mirror and making yourself cry!

Manicure Yourself

Manicures are for girls though, right? Well, no. We aren’t suggesting that you go out tomorrow and get shellac nails in a pink glitter… unless you really want to. Manicuring your nails is all about keeping them trim, clean and making sure that your hands overall are healthier. A typical manicure can invoke filing down or trimming your nails to a more manageable length, then moisturizing your hands and making sure you get rid of any wicks or dead skin. It’s a simple exercise and if you can spend 10 minutes every few weeks to do it, it will make all the difference to your hands.

Get A Regular A Haircut

The main annoyance of wanting your hair in a particular style as a man is that your hair tends to grow so quickly that a style only lasts for a week or two before fading. This means every few months you need to head to the hairdressers for a trim and tidy up. And it has to be said that a trim is a great thing for your head and the way you look. Especially if you trim your beard on the same day, it will make you look so sharp and smart. Don’t forget to go for those regular trims and try to book ahead to make things easier for you every time.

Shower Everyday

This one should be obvious… SHOULD. Showering every single day is the best way to keep your body clean and also stop bacteria from harming your body in any way. If you are looking to protect yourself from infections and bad smells then a nice refreshing shower each day is just what you need to get on with your day happy and energized. Make sure you don’t just use your hands to ways your body: use a shower scrub to really get into the skin and rid it of grime and dirt.

When it comes to washing your face you might think that using your shower gel is perfectly fine for the job, but it really isn’t. Good Oral Hygiene

We don’t need to tell you that you should be brushing your teeth every single day… however, we might need to help you remember the rest. How many of you floss your mouth every week? If that is a resounding no, then you need to start now. Flossing our mouth allows us to rid the space between our teeth of food, bacteria, and tartar which can damage our teeth and cause gum disease. Flossing is a huge part of your oral hygiene and you should remind yourself once a week to do it, it will only take a minute or so!

Groom Your Feet

Feet are something we usually forget about when looking into our personal grooming routine but the feet are one of the most crucial parts of our body. With the strain our feet take under every day trying to keep us up and moving, it’s only right that we take some time for them now and again. You can groom your feet in much the same way as your hands, and while you are applying the moisturizer make sure to give them a message too.

Hydrate Yourself

Water is far more important for the body than we want to believe. Water is the lifeblood which runs through our cells and if we don’t have enough water in our body we can end up looking dehydrated and tired. To make sure your skin glows and you have lots of energy each day you should be trying to drink around 2-3 liters of water. This will keep the body happy and healthy for years to come and it will make a massive difference.

Grooming our body to keep it sharp isn’t all about the grooming, we want a good canvas to work on if we want to look our best. Make sure that you don’t take exercise for granted when you are maintaining your image because it will make all the difference when you trim your beard and see a chiseled jaw underneath. Even if you can only move around for 10-15 minutes each day, any form of exercise is better than nothing and it can be just what you need.

Less Is More With Cologne

Contrary to what you might believe, you don’t need to share your scent with everyone within a mile radius each day. When it comes to applying cologne in the morning try and keep it to a minimum because there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

Avoid Unhealthy Habits

If you want to stay looking and feeling amazing throughout your life you will want to make sure that you kick those unhealthy habits such as smoking and drinking and practice a better way of life. It can be life changing to give up a bad habit and it really will make all the difference to you in the long term. Try switching from cigarettes to e-cigs and eventually cutting down to zero. Try cutting down your drinks by half on a night out and then gradually bring that down to nothing. These changes will allow your body to be much healthier and look much healthier too.
