Let’s be totally honest with ourselves, the gym isn’t for everyone. People of size don’t want to deal with the awkward stares, the “experts” and the assumptions that I am trying to be smaller. Leave me alone. I don’t want your condescending thoughts, I will pass. I am on a journey to become healthier. I don’t want to be small, in fact, I will never be a small man. That’s a fact! Blame my parents. I am satisfied with my structure and will do my best to be as healthy as possible in my size.
The most important thing is to be consistent in your workout. It’s one of the hardest things to do, but at one point walking was difficult for us too. We fell on our bottoms, tripped on articles, even asked our parents to pick us up. Even the greatest journey starts with a single step.
For those that aren’t gym warriors, there are some exercises that you can do at home to substitute going the gym. Find a park bench, a dining room chair or even the edge of your couch. Get into push-up position, balance your body accordingly. You do not want to strain your body or cause injuries to yourself. Abd then you push-up!
This exercise will strengthen your forearms, upper back, and shoulders. Give it a shot! Let us know how many you did! How often did you attempt the push ups? Email firstname.lastname@example.org It’s the gentlemen’s curb where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way.
