Perfect Yoga Poses For Office Workers
Most of us work in an office every day from 9-5 and will involve a lot of sitting down and this can make us feel incredibly stiff when we finally do go home after the day is up. however , one great way to make sure you are always super comfortable and your muscles are flexible is to practice yoga for 10-15 minutes when you get home. Make sure before you start that you have some comfortable stretchy clothes, and if you don’t you can head over to Yoga Crow and do a bit of shopping. Here are some of the best yoga moves for office workers which are bound to get rid of those familiar aches and pains.
When most people imagine yoga this is the pose which comes to mind and it is no wonder why! Downward dog is the post which often acts as a transition of a yoga flow and it is great for strengthening your legs and improving posture. Simply start with your hands on the ground and then walk back until you are in a V-shape. Always try to straighten your back and see if you can touch your heels on the mat.
Reverse warrior is a pose which is easy for some and little unnerving for others. The basic idea of this pose is to start off standing and move one leg backwards, allowing the front leg to bend 90 degrees. One you have done this you can place one arm on your back leg and extend the other one straight up, bending your back and looking up rather than forward. This is a great pose and one which everyone should try.
Standing Forward Fold
Standing forward fold can be best described as trying to touch your toes while keeping your legs straight. However the main purpose of this pose is more to let the bend happen naturally from the hips and as such you should relax your arms and head when you bend to let the weight of your body do the work for you. This is a great stretch after a day sitting in a chair and when you stand back up you will feel taller.
Locust With Interlace
If you fancy a lie down after a long day in the office, you can! Lie on your front and relax your entire body, with your arms at your sides. Now lift your legs off the ground and stretch them out behind you. Interlace your hands together and do the same, lifting your chest off the mat. This is an amazing pose for the back as well as the chest and heart and will promote a healthy posture.
The happy baby pose is one which looks pretty funny, but it is super effective and acts as the best cool down for the body after a session. All you need to do is lie on your back with your shins tucked into your chest, from here grab the insides of your feet and lift your legs up. It is a pose which will feel really strange at first but it is a great one to practice.
