The Gentlemen’s Curb
It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. In this post, we are doing something a bit different. Usually, I am speaking about fashion and fitness. But, I want to share my experience with you that I had at the Kwanzaa Crawl. Some of you may ask, what is Kwanzaa?
The Kwanzaa Crawl
The Gentlemen’s Curb at the Kwanzaa Crawl.
The Kwanzaa celebration honors African heritage in African-American culture and is observed from December 26 to January 1, culminating in a feast and gift-giving. Kwanzaa has seven core principles. Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, everyone is free to join the celebration of the week that African and African-American culture is celebrated. The members of the Kwanzaa Crawl organized a plan to support African-American owned bars in Brooklyn and In Harlem. The Crawl has raised a total of $160,000 in a day! (That’s pretty amazing and encouraging for all entrepreneurs.)
But, I was there for the drinks! I organized a team with my tribe and we decided to join in on the festivities. I always loved the idea of hopping from party to party, so I was sold on the idea. A huge plus was also supporting minority businesses and entrepreneurs.
It’s was nothing but love. There were beautiful people enjoying themselves and some amazing music! From classic r & b to the latest Afro beat. There were people of all races celebrating African and African American heritage and culture. I would do it again and encourage others to do the same! I saw men and women in kente cloth and dashikis. There was African print everywhere. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The food was a mixture of all cultures. The varying hairstyles were just everything! I am going to do my best to join next year. Make sure that you subscribe to the site too! Also, drop us a line if there are other events that you would like us to attend! Until next time, it’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way.
