For those that don’t know TWD is a show that deals with the world after the zombie apocalypse. A random man wakes up from a coma and the world is run by “The Walking Dead.” According to reports, Rick’s is assumed to be dead and the whole the audience sees the world through Rick’s perspective. Rick is shocked when he wakes up to find a world that he knows nothing about.

When I saw the cardigan, I was excited. I genuinely couldn’t wait to wear the sweater. The sweater feels softer than many sweaters that I have felt. The quality is impressive! I loved the white trimming on the sweater as well! New Favorite!

Tough Times

Throughout the seasons, we have loved Rick’s the tenacity of Rick’s group. We also mourned the “deaths” of some of our favorite character from the show. We grew and loved how The group overcame adversity and always persevered no matter the consequence or who stood in the way. The group made it through the zombie ambush of Hershel’s farm, quarrels with the Governor and the cannibals at Terminus.

The future of the show is now in question. It seems as if the show would end very soon. The mid-season finale revealed that Carl, the beloved son of the character Rick would “die,” in an encounter, Carl was bitten by a zombie. This action changes the dynamic of the show considerably. How does this change the dynamic of the show? Will Rick and company become more aggressive with the war with Negan? Does this make the group desperate? The action of Carl being bitten definitely changes TWD world.

We all enter different stages of development during our lives. The turmoil of one year can lead to the next, and prevent us from truly expressing our goals. You need a plan, or you’ll likely end up falling into someone else’s. You should never feel guilty about developing your aims, your goals and your life in a direction you most cherish. Plan realistically, on a day by day and week by week basis exactly how you can utilize your free time to achieve that you truly need to achieve.

This helps put you in that ‘no-BS’ mode which is intrinsically important to keep if you’re to achieve anything in this life.

 

The gym is much more than a physical remedy. It can be a spiritual training tool if you focus on it right, and optimize all progress around it. If nothing else, setting yourself in a solid routine aside from your job will help you manage your free time to a much better degree. The energy you receive from getting in shape will fuel all of your exploits from now on, to the point where you’ll question how you lived without it.

We’ve all had those times when we’ve struggled to complete our exercise. When you’re struggling to complete a set, or run that last kilometer, press play and you’ll get a fresh rush of motivation that will see you through.

Try a Change of Pace

 

If you’re really struggling to complete your workout, then changing the pace for a few minutes can help. This could mean transitioning between running and a slower jog or switching from press-ups to power walking for five minutes before ramping things up again.

 

Hire a Personal Trainer

 

If things really just aren’t working out for you and you find yourself regularly checking out of your exercise sessions without pushing yourself, or even completing them, then it could be worth hiring a personal trainer. Having someone who you’re accountable to and who will motivate you to do better is one of the best ways to actually achieve more.

 

Set Mini-Milestones

 

The thought  of completing a 10k run might be enough to make you give up and check out 4 kilometers in, but if you break it down, so that you only have to run 2k five times, meeting lots of little mini goals, although the ultimate aim is the same, it can really change the way you think and prevent you from quitting.

Buy a Fitbit, or whichever fitness tracking device you prefer, and you’ll be amazed how much more motivation you have when you can track everything you do down to the smallest details. Even if you want to give up, you won’t want to mess up your stats, so you’ll keep on going. It’s really odd how much of a difference this can make, but it really does work.

The Walking Dead With The Winston Box!

Normally, I write posts for men of size. Men that are considered big and tall, or plus males or even brawn men. But, I decided to do something different along with the good folks at The Winston Box. The Insanity

I don’t want to discuss the current season (there will be no spoilers on my blog) but I want to bring along The Winston Box while we speak about this show. This season Rick’s crew that we have grown to love are at war with Negan’s saviors. An all-out war is how this current season is defined as. Two seasons ago we witness TWD characters Glenn and Abraham beaten to death with a bat by Negan, while Rick and crew were surrounded by Saviors. It was a gruesome scene, Abraham was killed in front of his beloved lady and Glenn was killed in front of wife while she carried his child!

R.I.P.

Initially, I was upset! I was angry! I ALMOST refused to watch the season. It scared me because I was a fan of Glenn. I admired his courage and that he always was willing to help people, even risked his life so that his comrades could have medicine. What a stand up guy! Is your hair as important to you as your clothing? Do you want to ensure that you never have another bad hair day again? You need to get serious about looking after your hair. Here are a few things that will help you look like you’ve just stepped out of a hair product commercial at all times (well most of the time)…

 

Get a Good Haircut

 

I can’t tell you exactly what kind of haircut to get because that depends on a lot on personal taste and what will suit your face and style, but having a good haircut is the first step to healthy, great looking hair. That means you should go to the best barber you can afford and get good advice, a great cut, and a fantastic experience.

Pat It

 

The best way to dry your hair, whether you have locks, a high fade or long rocker locks, is by patting it gently. If you rub it harshly with a towel, that will lead to damage, tangles, and breakages, and if you use a hairdryer, then that will also cause damage too.

 

When you get out of the shower, shake your head to get rid of any excess water, then pat your hair slowly (and gently) in the direction of growth. If you have locks, then you’ll want to squeeze the excess moisture out of them before patting. It might not be quite as convenient, taking a bit longer to dry, but it will ensure that your hair looks as good as the rest of you.

Warm Water Only

While we’re talking about washing your hair, it is never a good idea to use really hot water during the process. It might feel fantastic to have a waterfall of hot water falling over your scalp, but it will get rid of too many of your scalp’s essential oils, which could dry your hair out and make it frizzy.

 

Keep Chemicals to a Minimum

 

It can be tempting to put lots of chemicals on your hair, particularly if it is unruly, frizzy and out of control, but the more chemical treatments your hair undergoes, the more dull and damaged your hair will become, not only from the chemicals working on your hair but also due to the residual build-up that gets left behind.

Eat a Healthy Diet

In many ways, your hair is only as healthy as the rest of your body, which is why, if you want it to look good, you need to treat your body more like a temple and less like a slum. Try to up your intake of water, fruits, veggies and whole grains. Also try to get your full 8 hours of sleep each night and your hair will improve in appearance as a result.

Hat’s that are very tight around the head can lead to the development of a condition known as traction alopecia, which basically means that the hat pulls the hair out of your head. Unfortunately, when this happens, it can become permanent, and you may well be left with bald patches.

If hair loss is something that you’re suffering from, it might be worth trying the Capillus. This simple device uses a system of lasers to help thicken up thinning hair. It could be just the thing you need if you don’t think that the bald look is for you and a comb-over just won’t fly (it won’t).

If you’re prone to frizzy hair and that’s not cool with you – some people can pull off frizz just fine – then you might want to consider using a moisturizing serum along with your other hair products. Doing so will help to slick down your hair, make it easier to manage and give it a little more healthy shine too!

There is always an occurrence that sets you back if you let it. Many people tell me to “push forward” when I am going through a rough spell. But, the truth is that it’s hard to be consistent. I was dealt a very devastating blow and it set me back. I questioned, “how will I move forward?” But, with prayers and positive energy, I will learn to move forward! So, I apologize for my brief hiatus. But, I will not abandon my brothers in arms, men of size and the women in the plus-size community. I appreciate all of those that expressed their sincere condolences towards me and my family.

Better Days With Bad Rhino!

I have been doing so much these past days to stay busy. And clothing from Bad Rhino has helped me when I am out on the town representing for all men of size. At 6’1 and 312 pounds, I am sure that I am definitely hard to miss! So, I have to make sure that I am seen. I loved the burgundy bomber jacket from Bad Rhino. I matched the shirt with a plaid shirt and some  Bad Rhino denim. (Bad Rhino has some awesome denim, its like I can’t get enough of them. But, that’s another post.) The colors went together so well. I felt like an unstoppable Rhino.

These words from Prodigy of Mobb Deep verse on “Shook Ones Pt II” resonate with me. Although the Prodigy passed away his words definitely live on. Prodigy was part of the legendary Queensbridge rap group and became someone that help to raise awareness of sickle cell anemia. In the same way that hip hop was once considered an underground voice. The voice of the poor and disenfranchised “inner city” youth. The spirit of that rebellion is infectious. The same voice that has been displayed for plus size fashion.  The fashion world especially has treated men of size as if we weren’t major. At all.  But after a lot of advancements from the plus size women’s movement, the brawn, the big and tall men and plus men have a platform to advocate for us.

Boohoo has become one of those brands that made clothes for men of size. I love the colors and I love hoodies especially. I am sure that there are part of the uniform for all men of size. I love that even the pockets are huge enough to place my hands into. I can fit a cell phone and a whole bunch of other items.

As a man of size, I am leery when I hear about brands that promote a product specifically for people of size. I am sure that all brawn men, plus size men and big and tall men can relate. I am an XXXL man. I am 6’1, I weigh about 312 pounds and wear a size 15 shoe. I am leery of brands that are trying to take advantage of people of size. Some brands say that their products are cater us, but they don’t cater to us at all. Some brands are just want another quick buck and don’t are of the needs of people of size.

I invited my four year old nephew to my apartment to “play.” What my nephew didn’t know is that I was going to test out the mattress. So, we jumped on the mattress. I wanted to see if Big Fig’s guarantee of the mattress not being indented was true. I sat on the corner of the bed while my nephew jumped tirelessly. Then I joined him! I jumped, at first with hesitation, because I thought the bed frame would break, but the mattress hardly moved! At all. The mattress absorbed the force. When I saw that mattress hardly gave, I was convinced! I have been regretting getting out of bed since.  The mattress also has some cooling technology, which helps with sleeping comfortably.

I am definitely love my mattress. Big Fig made a product that caters to people of size. At times, its hard to get out of the bed. The bed is so comfortable! Greetings, The Gentlemen’s Curb is the the lifestyle location for men of size. And I have somethings that I want to share with you. The Autumn season is finally here. For a while many folks in New York City were complaining about the cold, I  wasn’t. I am a summer baby, warm weather is my place of comfort. But, I have to be realistic, the seasons don’t operate on my feelings.  However, burgundy is one the essential colors for autumn. So, I had to head to Bad Rhino, who has become one of my go to stores for men of size.

To be honest, I don’t mind the brisk weather to work out.  I am a 300 pound man who is trying to make healthier life choices. At times the gym gets overcrowded and I get tired of the awkward stares when I work out. So, I head to New York City’s playground to put some work in. I know that Bad Rhino has some athletic wear for men of size. It’s exciting.

As a man of size, it’s rare to find comfortable clothes to work out in. Usually, there are many restrictions in clothing. At times I felt as if I were trapped in. Imagine waking up being trapped in a blanket, that’s how a lot of athletic wear fits me.  Bad Rhino’s athletic wear did the job for me.

Bad Rhino’s athletic wear definitely passed the test. Believe me, I made sure that the clothing was not only my size, but a great quality. There wasn’t much restriction, the clothes were lite and allowed to get the work I needed to get done.
