Shaq/JCPenney

A few months ago we had the opportunity to work with JCPenney and their partnership with Shaquille O’Neal’s XLG line. As started in the post, I was excited especially because These was a suit that didn’t make me feel limited and or restricted as a man of size. I am about 6’1 and weight about 324 pounds. So, you know I don’t want to feel like I am in a straight jacket in my clothes. And most importantly the clothing is super affordable. Great clothes at low prices is a dream.

Wilhelmina Contest

Recently Shaq XLG/JCPENNEY teamed up with Wilhelmina to have a contest for big and y’all men. This. Is. Super. Dope. Wilhelmina is know for having a bunch of diverse models on their roster. I think it’s dope that big & tall men now have an opportunity to flourish in the realm of modeling.

To many of us, the topic of sex is taboo. We all do it, but we refuse to talk about it. Porn sites are where most of the people would spend their time. Relax

So, let’s not go overboard and have some adult conversation.
This series will be mainly geared towards men. No, no one in my inbox asked me about sex. Well, they did but it wasn’t for any advice!
In this series, we are going to be discussing ways for men to increase our sex lives. In this post, we will speak one important factor of confidence.

Confidence 

To have real confidence is weird because it’s something that you can’t fake. A lot of people try to project confidence, but it comes across as being cocky. I have been there, trust me. But, it goes a bit deeper. When it comes to sex, how you feel about yourself plays in your performance. Now, if you’re a larger person and your weight is heavy on the brain, then your overall performance won’t be the strongest. You will limit yourself and won’t focus on the moment.

Boost Your Confidence

There are tons of things that can affect our confidence. Boost your confidence by learning something new. There is a lot of information available. YouTube is an amazing source of information. Read. Listen. Converse. Exchange Ideas.
The more confident you are in yourself the more confident you will be in the bedroom.

Put Aside Your Ego And Learn 

Every partner that you encounter will be different. Don’t assume. Converse. If you are truly interested in her, then you will be willing to be a better partner.  Ignore the notion that is forced on men that we should automatically “know” what woman want. We will never know the impossible. Ha! I am joking, I hope that the women that are reading this won’t be offended.

Don’t Ask About What Was The Biggest

Don’t get your feelings hurt. Penis size is a huge factor. If your partner is dealing with you then take it as that. Your partner can see your size and definitely knows. (Let’s be honest, Bro. I know that you feel like your johnson is the hugest in the world. News Flash There are longer, wider. It’s life go balls deep with what you were given.)
If you go digging you might get your feelings hurt and then your confidence will drop back down. Why would you care about her other visitors when your partner is currently “visiting” you? (*shrug*)

Play To Your Strength

Do you look at old clips of NBA (The National Basketball Association) on YouTube? (I love watching how the older guys played and compare it to how the players of today play.) If you don’t look at the Utah Jazz when Karl Malone and John Stockton played. Every other play it seemed was a pick and roll play. And it brought the pair all-star appearances and some western conference championships. They played to their strengths. You should do the same.

I Love Food!

I waited for a while to post because my thoughts weren’t clear. This week was a bit of a roller coaster and I am thankful that the seat buckle didn’t give on me. For those that don’t know, I am an eater. I eat when I am happy. I eat when I am sad. I eat when it’s time to celebrate. Food is such an important part of socializing as well. When we hang out with friends, we eat. When we go out on dates, we eat.

Sweets

But, I like sweets. I could eat a box of Little Debbie’s Swiss Rolls. I love Linden’s butter crunch cookies. I loved honey buns too! I found comfort in sweets. One of my other favorites was pound cake, with vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup! The combination tasted better than sex! That’s no exaggeration because that’s absolutely how I felt. When no one would comfort me there was always sweets.

When people in my life was vacant, There was always food. Food always listened to me. Food never abandoned me. I felt I had a friend. As so I thought.

Time For Change

As much as I worked out, I would eat just as much. But, due to circumstances in my life, I was forced to make a change. (I will talk about that at a later time. I don’t want to break down while I am writing.) I stopped eating sweets during the week. I put down unnatural sugars, the sodas, the deserts, the bread, and the starch. It’s been extremely difficult, but now the results are showing and I am extremely thankful. My sleep is better. In many instances, I am sleepy but not tired. I am consistent with exercising and it feels great. Now, I have a long way to go and it isn’t easy to change your mindset.

The Gentlemen’s Curb The ‘Curb Year In Review

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. First, I want to Thank God for this opportunity. I have been a blogger that models every now and then. I have been blessed with some amazing opportunities and to be absolutely honest, I am super humbled. Humility is the catalyst that helps me to push forward. You are only as good as your last post. You shouldn’t stay in the past because time is always moving. There have been many sacrifices and many ups and downs that I have been blessed to overcome. Some struggles I made public and some struggles I made private.

A Lookbook?

However, this lookbook started out as a crazy idea. I stand a man that is 6’1 and 324 pounds. The idea seemed impossible and insane. I would think to myself “it would be dope to have a lookbook for men of size.” I haven’t seen a lookbook for big and tall/plus size men. (To be fair, we have lookbooks with specific brands, but not a book highlight brands for men of size exclusively.)

It’s Isn’t Always About You

Because there are things that are bigger than me, I have to push forward.  As I child, I was always bigger than a lot of my peers. Too many times, I got the “fat” jokes. So, it made me insecure. Insecure about myself, my body and especially my abilities. I felt as I had to be one of the people that pushed for size inclusion so that those behind won’t have to experience what I went through. There are people just like you doing amazing things!
But, we worked through my frustrations to bring you a book that’s the first of this kind.

Celebrate Your Accomplishments

It’s a huge accomplishment and I am extremely happy and privileged to share it with you. The pictures selected are some bold and historic photos that highlight some points of 2018.
This is an accomplishment not only for men of size but the modern man. Let’s continue to break barriers and shatter stereotypes all while being ourselves.
I want to thank all of the WOMEN who have been on the front lines of body advocacy, body positivity movement. Your courageous actions will never go unnoticed and unrecognized. Thank You.

The Gentlemen’s Curb

This look is one of my favorite looks from the lookbook. The Gentlemen’s Curb Year In Review: The Official Big & Tall Lookbook.  I mean, to be absolutely honest I love them all, but this particular inspiration is one of my absolute favorites. I know some of yall may ask why? Well, I love the work that Michael B. Jordan. The accomplished actor is a character that I remember from the television series called “The Wire.” But, 2018 was an incredible year for Michael B. Jordan (and many other actors as well.) I loved the actor’s roles in the films “Creed,” and Marvel’s “The Black Panther.”

Michael B Jordan

Michael B Jordan’s shoot for the Men’s Health magazine was the inspiration for the latest look. I felt that the look should have been done from a big & tall lens. I was a little nervous with this, but I am embracing my body. It’s something that I should have done years ago.  The denim shirt is from Society of One  (I love this brand! I feel like it’s a brand not too many of us know about) that could be found at Destination XL. The jeans are from Boohoo Man. Make sure that you check them out. I loved this cover and felt as if the picture spoke to me. The picture ended up being iconic in my mind and iconic I am sure in the eyes of others. Although Wakanda is a fictional place, the ideas of Wakanda resonate throughout the world. It pushes an idea, similar to Ethiopia but that’s a story for another day. Check out the images below:

The Gentlemen’s Curb The ‘Curb Year In Review

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. First, I want to Thank God for this opportunity. I have been a blogger that models every now and then. I have been blessed with some amazing opportunities and to be absolutely honest, I am super humbled. Humility is the catalyst that helps me to push forward. You are only as good as your last post. You shouldn’t stay in the past because time is always moving. There have been many sacrifices and many ups and downs that I have been blessed to overcome. Some struggles I made public and some struggles I made private.

A Lookbook?

However, this lookbook started out as a crazy idea. I stand a man that is 6’1 and 324 pounds. The idea seemed impossible and insane. I would think to myself “it would be dope to have a lookbook for men of size.” I haven’t seen a lookbook for big and tall/plus size men. (To be fair, we have lookbooks with specific brands, but not a book highlight brands for men of size exclusively.)

It’s Isnt Always About You

Because there are things that are bigger than me, I have to push forward.  As I child, I was always bigger than a lot of my peers. Too many times, I got the “fat” jokes. So, it made me insecure. Insecure about myself, my body and especially my abilities. I felt as I had to be one of the people that pushed for size inclusion so that those behind won’t have to experience what I went through. There are people just like you doing amazing things!
But, we worked through my frustrations to bring you a book that’s the first of this kind.

Celebrate Your Accomplishments

It’s a huge accomplishment and I am extremely happy and privileged to share it with you. The pictures selected are some bold and historic photos that highlight some points of 2018.
This is an accomplishment not only for men of size but the modern man. Let’s continue to break barriers and shatter stereotypes all while being ourselves.
I want to thank all of the WOMEN who have been on the front lines of body advocacy, body positivity movement. Your courageous actions will never go unnoticed and unrecognized. Thank You.

Cubavera is a brand that is based deeply in Cuban roots. (For those that don’t know I have some Cuban roots, so I am super excited to share this brand.) Being I am a New York City resident, I had to take Cubavera on the streets of the biggest city in the world. The city where dreams are made of and everyone can make it. And from the looks of the photos, Cubavera CLEARLY passed the test. In my mind, I would like to think that I stopped traffic. Especially train traffic.
