The Gentlemen’s Curb

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb is a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. We are a lifestyle blog that focuses on men of size, plus males and big and tall men. But, we are certain that there is something here for everyone. We are back to share some information with you. Keep reading the information below.

Why You Can’t Find The Motivation To Work Out

We all know that we can use a little exercise to help us get fitter, healthier, stronger, and more self-confident. However, not enough of us acknowledge that working out is as much a mental struggle as it is a physical one. If you want to build yourself a better body (however you define that) but you can’t seem to work up the motivation, here are a few reasons you might be struggling.

Look at your goals

The more nebulous your workout goals are, the harder it’s going to be to meet them. Following your progress and seeing yourself getting close to those goals can give a real shot of motivation that helps you get over the challenging aspects of exercise. Look at workout goals you can set yourself, whether it’s losing a certain amount of weight, setting a new deadlift record, being able to run a mile long and so on. Find goals, set them, and break them down into smaller objectives that help you track your progress.

Look at your expectations

Don’t start off harder than you should. Can you try your hardest to bench your bodyweight if you’ve never exercised before? Sure, and you might even accomplish it, but you might seriously hurt yourself in the process. If you’re a beginner, set the bar a little lower for yourself, and learn more about apps for beginner workouts.

Look at your environment

If you want to find yourself in the right headspace, you should try finding yourself in the right physical space, as well. See more about the gyms in your area and look at those running classes you’re interested in joining, or with personal trainers in your price range. Being surrounded by others who are on their own fitness journeys and have tips and techniques to share with you can make it feel much less like you’re struggling on your own. It’s been scientifically proven that working out with others increases how much you’re able to exercise without feeling the strain, too.

Look at your routine

Many people admit defeat before they’ve even tried, and one of the most common excuses is being unable to find the time. You don’t have to put in an hour in the gym to start making moves towards your fitness goals. Find out more about making the time for exercise throughout the day. Ten minutes here, five minutes there, it can all add up.

Look at your body

If you’re genuinely feeling like you don’t have the energy to get up and move, it might not just be about motivation. There could be a medical explanation. From depression to iron deficiencies, there are lots of things that can cause feelings of little-to-no energy so think about seeing your doctor.

If you can identify your motivation blockers and get them out of the way, you’re much more likely to start seeing real progress through an exercise regime that you can continue to follow in the long-term. Getting in the right headspace is as important as doing the right workouts.

The Gentlemen’s Curb

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. We focus on lifestyle options for men of size, meaning big and tall, plus males and brawn men. But, we have something for all men.  We are back with some more information to help you in the fashion world.

Making Sure Your Look Keeps With the Times

Fashion moves fast, so it’s not all too surprising that many of us feel lost when it comes to knowing how to style ourselves. While we don’t want to fall behind the times, we also don’t want to invest huge amounts of time or effort into pieces or looks that will quickly fall off trend. But not to worry. There are simple ways to ensure that your look is eye-catching in the right way. Here are a couple of options to consider.

Accessorise

Chances are that you already have your own distinct style when it comes to your wardrobe. This is important, as while fashion constantly changes, style lasts forever. If you have your basics and your signature items, you don’t have to worry about falling off trend. You can subtly keep your look up-to-date, however, by incorporating on-trend accessories into your outfits. Take a look at some of the scarves, pocket squares, bracelets, and belts at johnhenric.com. These will add a fresh take to your usual ensemble!

Try Out Our Facial Hair

One aspect of your appearance that you can easily change at a minimal cost is your facial hair. At the moment, the clean-shaven look has definitely taken a dip in popularity. Nowadays more and more men are opting to grow out their facial hair into all sorts of shapes and styles. Here are a couple of styles you might want to try out.

Stubble

If you’re looking to replicate the look of three days’ worth of stubble, you don’t necessarily have to shave every three days and wait for the results. This look can easily be achieved every day. This look is a closely trimmed beard that shows your ability to grow thick facial hair without allowing it to catch crumbs and overheat your face. It’s a scruffy look, perfect for the casual and happy go lucky kind of guy. It also adds an air of rugged masculinity. This is one of the most simple looks to achiever. If you’re growing into it, it’ll come naturally. If you’re trimming down into it, use a beard trimmer with a short comb attachment. If your beard is relatively long, you might want to trim down in stages to avoid clogging of the device. Then shape your beard outline by removing the comb attachment.

The Lumberjack

The lumberjack is a traditional, full beard. This look will require patience, especially if your facial hair is slow growing, but styling-wise, it’s pretty simple to achieve. Allow your beard to grow. As it begins to reach a substantial length, it’s time to start shaping it. Trim the hair around your cheekbones for a clean, straight look. Use different trimmer guards to graduate the length of the beard, from shortest at the cheekbones to the longest at the bottom. Remember that the longer your facial hair the more cleaning and conditioning it will need – you should definitely consider investing in specialist beard washes, balms, and oils.

Incorporating these tips into your lifestyle and regime will ensure that you’re up to date and look stylish and suave!

Easily Boost Any Fitness Goal You Might Have

If you are concerned with being as fit as possible, then you are probably always on the lookout for a way to make that happen in whatever way you can. One of the best things to think about in these terms is to make sure that you have some specific goals which you can work towards. As long as you do, you will find that your workouts and your overall progress advance magnificently, so it is definitely worth considering if only for that reason alone. Of course, you will also want to make sure that you are doing whatever you can to boost any fitness goals which you might have, and that is what we are going to look at today. As long as you are considering the following, you should be able to ensure that your fitness goals are much easier to reach and that you’re therefore a lot happier with your overall progression.

Know The Science

One of the major things that is missing from most people’s progress is an actual basic understanding of the science involved in the process. As long as you have some clue what the actual workings of a workout are, it makes it much more likely that you will be able to achieve the results you want. Fro that reason, whatever your goal is, be sure to look into the science underlying the progress you would like to make. You will almost certainly find that this improves your progress immediately, no matter what it might be that you are actually trying to achieve. In order to understand the science, you should be able to find all the relevant information you need online, but it might be worth a visit to your local library too.

Approach It From All Angles

Whatever your goal is, it’s a good idea to make sure that you approach it from as many angles as you can. You can’t be sure of achieving what you want unless you are doing all you can to get there, and more often than not that means finding new and interesting ways to do so. To work by an example, let’s say that you’re hoping to build muscle above all else. It is therefore prudent for you not to just go to the gym to lift weights, but also to up your meat and eggs in your diet, eat a few protein bars, and again learn the science about how a muscle actually builds. You need to do more than just lift weights to gain muscle – and more than just go for a jog to lose weight.

Remember To Be Patient

There is no telling how long it will take to reach your goal, in part because every human body is different and nobody is you except for yourself. Therefore, it makes no sense to hold yourself to lofty ideals place on you by others or society as a whole. Be patient with yourself, and don’t necessarily expect wonders and magical things to occur. The more realistic you are in your efforts, the truer and more effective they will turn out to be.

Date Night Dressing: How To Keep It Cool & Casual

First dates are always stressful. There’s never going to be a time when first dates aren’t stressful. Even if you’ve known the person who you’re going on a date with for a while, it’s still going to be a little stressful. The truth is that first dates are all about making a good impression, which is what makes them such a stressful process. When it comes to preparing for a first date, often the most difficult part of the process is choosing what to wear. Naturally, you want to look (and feel) your best, which is why knowing what to wear is so crucial. Today, the key to fashion success on a first date is simple: dress to look cool and casual without looking sloppy. While that advice might seem simple and straightforward, choosing what to wear is not always as easy. Bearing that in mind, below are some fashion tips for making it easier to select what to wear on a first date.

Avoid ‘smart’ trousers

Today, the dating world has changed significantly. Dinner dates used to mean wearing a suit complete with a tie, but today that’s rarely the case. Unless you’re taking your date to somewhere exceedingly posh, you can probably forget the suit and tie and the smart trousers too. It’s far better to opt for a more casual trouser, such as a smartly cut skinny jean (rip-free, of course) or some Kahkis trousers – Bills Kahkis have a wide range of suitable designs to choose from – and pair your trousers of choice with a smarter top.

Keep your shoes casual

Don’t make the mistake of pairing casual trousers with smart shoes, it really doesn’t work. Instead, opt for semi-smart shoes or trainers that are clean and well-designed. Choose a shoe that works perfectly when teamed with your outfit; what you don’t want is a shoe that makes your outfit look too casual. You want to opt for a shoe that is the perfect balance of cool and casual without looking sloppy or making your outfit look sloppy.

Get your top half right

There are ranges of options for your top half. You could opt to team a polo neck top with an oversized blazer – this look works well with black skinny jeans – or you could pick out a simple t-shirt – a polo shirt is probably best though as it is casual with a smart edge to it. In colder weathers, wearing a cable knit sweater could also work well. For a smarter look, you could top this off with an oversized blazer with rolled sleeves.

Coat or no coat?

Depending on the weather, you may want to wear a coat. If you don’t, ensure that your outfit looks chic without it. If you do, make sure to choose a coat that compliments your look and enhances it further. Never wear an overly smart coat with a more casual outfit as it can end up creating the illusion that your outfit is sloppy and you haven’t put time into choosing what to wear, which translates to – ‘I have made no effort and don’t care’. Always pick a coat that works perfectly with the outfit that you have picked out.

There you have it, a guide to date night dressing and keeping your look perfectly cool and casual.

The Gentlemen’s Curb

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. We are back to share some information with you! There has been so much going on and at one point we will share. But for the meantime, keep reading below.

How To Make Yourself Look “Cool” Again

Are you worried that you’re starting to look old before your time? Would you like to look cool and hip like you did when you were young? Then you need to make some small changes like the ones mentioned on this page. Take a moment to read this post and then use some of the ideas to ensure you can achieve your goal. When all’s said and done, this is not an exact science, and it is wise to use some common sense. So, feel free to tailor these suggestions based on your personal taste and style.

Do something about that hair loss

A significant percentage of men will suffer hair loss before they reach the age of forty. If that happens to you; there is a reasonable chance you are going to lose your confidence and feel like an old man. Wearing a cap doesn’t cut it. However, there are solutions out there if you take the time to conduct some research. Of course, there are lots of snake oil products out there too that will not make an improvement. With that in mind, find a reputable hair loss specialist and give them a call to inquire about their services. They are not going to break the bank, but they could knock ten years off your perceived life.

Head out and buy an entirely new wardrobe

If you haven’t purchased some new clothing for a while, now is the time to arrange a day out shopping with your buddies. Of course, it’s the girls who usually organize trips of that nature, and so you can always ask a few members of the opposite sex along too. With a bit of luck, they will point you in the right direction if you get stuck and make sure you come home with at least a few new items. Wear your new outfits when you go out for the evening with your friends and test it out. You should notice you get lots more attention than you otherwise would have done.

Wear some modern, popular footwear

The footwear you purchase could make or break your new wardrobe. It’s all well and good looking hip and fresh, but you’re going to ruin the style if you put some flip-flops on or something similar. Take a look at some of the most popular shoes and trainers on the high street and ask in store for some advice if you get stuck. If you have some lady friends with you; they are sure to let you know what looks attractive, and what doesn’t.

If you follow the advice from this article, it is possible that you will look ten years younger the next time you venture out for the night with your buddies. You will get a lot more attention from the opposite sex, and you should never have to feel self-conscious again. All guys let things go from time to time, and that is usually because we work long hours. However, now you need to focus on yourself for a while, and using the suggestions from this page is a decent first step.

An Education in Wardrobe Must-Haves

All items in your wardrobe are equal but some more equal than others. Some items make or break your whole look, and it will be worth spending time and effort to make sure you choose wisely. This challenge is not exclusive to the modern-day man, as most of those key clothing items and accessories have been around for decades, some even centuries. Here are a few of those staples with a bit of their history.

A Versatile and High-Quality Blazer

Throwing on a blazer is like cheating. A good blazer will be versatile and can be used for more formal occasions or just hanging around in. It gives you a finished look without having to put in all the effort. Blazers are different to sports coats as they are more formal than their counterpart and are made from solid color fabrics. Blazers are usually made from durable and thicker materials, suited for outdoor wear, making them perfect for spring and autumn. The term ‘blazer’ comes from jackets associated with the Lady Margaret Boat Club (1825), the rowing club of St. John’s College, Cambridge. The clubwear was bright red and was termed blazers as of such. Blazers can complement a shirt to finish a more formal look or can be worn over a casual t-shirt, giving you a typical professional creative look. Investing in two or three high-quality blazers will change up your wardrobe significantly.

A Good Pair of Jeans

The staple of everyone’s wardrobe must be a good pair of jeans. For the origin of this iconic pair of trousers, we can go back to 1873 when Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss patented the design. The very same Levi Strauss who founded Levi Strauss & Co, better known to the world as simply Levi’s. Jeans nowadays come in many forms, but it’s hard to escape the basics of jeans, it is dungaree cloth or denim and copper rivets. The rivets were introduced to strengthen areas that would usually tear and damage. The denim fabric is said to derive its name from ‘de Nimes,’ which basically means ‘from Nimes,’ a city in France. Davis & Strauss’ jeans initially were meant as sturdy trousers for factory workers, miners, farmers, and cattle drivers. For the decades following jeans were associated with practicality and functionality, not for fashion sense. It wasn’t until the 1950s when James Dean gave jeans its fashion edge in the film ‘Rebel Without a Cause’ (1955). Throughout the 60s and 70s jeans became increasingly mainstream, eventually becoming casual wear.

A Set of High Impact Neckties

A few high-quality neckties are essential in every male wardrobe. The origin of neckties can be found in cravats, which you might mistake for very thick neckties. Cravats can undoubtedly add class to your outfit, but due to it being an uncommon sight, it will make you stand out. The cravat dates to the 1630s and has a military origin. Louis XIII of France enlisted Croatian mercenaries in his army. The name ‘cravat’ is thought to derive from the French word ‘cravate,’ a variant of Croate (Croatian). These hired soldiers have pieces of cloth wrapped around their necks, believed to hold together their cloaks. The theories are that the fabric was used to cover a dirty shirt or that is was of psychological effect to protect the neck against spears. If you are a cravat aficionado, consider visiting Croatia on October 18, when the country celebrates its national Cravat Day.

Throughout the decades, the cravat would take on different shapes and sizes and travel around the world. It wasn’t until the industrial revolution at the end of the 17th century that neckties, as we know them now, were developed. The necktie was simply a no-nonsense version of what has gone before it that was easy to put on, comfortable and wouldn’t come undone during the day. In fashion, the necktie made its mark in the late 1950s and early 1960s when bands such as the Beatles and the Kinks donned around skinny ties. As clothes became more form-fitting, a skinny tie was the perfect way to push back against the establishment. And regardless of what you think of neckties, skinny or not, the consensus is always that clip-on’s are unacceptable.

A Watch that Says Something About Its Owner

Watches are still a powerful fashion statement, even in a time where most people rely on their smartphone to know the time. Watches evolved from spring-driven clocks, which first appeared in the 16th century. The watch was continuously developed and reinvented from the 16th century to mid-20th century. It wasn’t until the invention of the quartz watch in the 1960s that a leap was made into how watches functioned. The quartz watches innovation was the use of electricity and a vibrating quartz crystal, which provided a more stable and reliable process than the previous generations of mechanical watches. The term ‘watch’ comes from the Old English word ‘woecce,’ which means ‘watchman,’ referring to town watchmen who used the device to keep track of their shifts. One of the more iconic brands in recent times is Casio, widely popular for its modern looks. Casio has many successful and popular lines, such as the G-Shock Military Watch which provides a rugged fashion statement.

A Good Fitting Shirt

A good wardrobe can not lack half a dozen good fitting shirts. T-shirts are excellent for casual wear, but when you need to dress up, a well-shaped shirt makes the difference between to just being there and making an impression. One of the first shirts found was retrieved from a First Dynasty Egyptian tomb at Tarkan, circa 3000 BC. Shirts during their evolution were surprisingly seen as casual wear and only for lower-class workers. It wasn’t until the 20th century that this shifted, and shirts became associated with higher skilled jobs and standing. Nowadays there is no excuse to wear ill-fitting shirts. It might take some time to find the right brand that fits you correctly, but it’s worth the search. Alternatively, you can get a tailored shirt. But buyer beware, brick-and-mortar stores and skillful measuring still beat most online self-measure services. As with most iconic fashion items, we might enjoy them now, but they took generations of skilled labor to get here.

The Gentlemen’s Curb

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. I hope that you enjoyed our last post about the great time we had at FFF week, you can read that here. But, in the meantime, we have some more information to share with you.

Are You Trying Enough Things That Challenge You?

No-one can deny that the world isn’t always going to be an easy place to live in. We are all bound to face challenges at some point, whether they are tests of our willpower, to our perseverance, even physicality from time to time. This is part of why it’s important to challenge yourself. No-one is in charge of your growth but you and if we spend our time doing what comes easily or naturally to us, those challenges can be all the harder. Here, we’re going to look at how we can be a little more prepared for the kind of difficult spots life can throw us in.

Challenge your body

First of all, exercise is an essential part of health. It’s not necessarily about how you look, it’s about the health benefits you reap from it. As a guy, there’s no denying that we’re relied upon for our strength from time to time. Friends and family might expect us to lend a hand when moving, for instance, and being unable to help can be demoralizing, to say the least. But the mental side of the strength exercise provides is just as important as the physical. It helps many men learn what discipline, willpower, and self-actualization feel like. Like you biceps, these are muscles that need to be worked out and if you’ve worked them out in them you will find them easier to use when dealing with challenging things out in the world too.

Challenge your mind

We all have hobbies, but how many of your hobbies challenge you and how many of them are just dead time? Instead of spending all day playing video games or following your fantasy football team, it’s worth taking on a hobby that introduces skills you’re not entirely used to. To get the practical and cognitive side of your mind working, learning the details of using, maintaining, and repairing tech toys like RC planes can be challenging yet still incredibly fun. There’s no denying that sometimes we need a break and a hobby that’s simple and easy fun, but we should also broaden our horizons from time to time.

Challenge your viewpoint

A lot of people nowadays think that having strong convictions means having a perspective on things that can never waver. This is dangerous, more than anything. Having a viewpoint so rigid means that it might not bend easily, but it can break if ever it comes across evidence that’s just too strong to deny. This is true of personal views, political views, and more. Podcasts are great for when you’re working out, keeping your mind off the physical strain. Why don’t you try listening to viewpoints from across the board and give yourself something to chew on mentally while you exercise? You might find some of your beliefs being reinforced, or you might find yourself dropping those that don’t stand up under a more complete picture.

From the essential care and maintenance of your health to the hobbies you spend your free time on, it’s important you challenge yourself regularly. Prepare yourself for the world and nothing will keep you down for too long.

The Gentlemen’s Curb

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. We cover topics that men of size deal with. We keep you updated with the latest fashion, fitness and lifestyle options for big and tall/plus male/brawn men. We hope that you take the time to get familiar with the site and make sure that you subscribe and stick around!

Full-Figured Fashion Week

I know why a lot of you are here, so let’s get to why you are here. But, before you read about what I hate about FFF Week, here is some information. You can also read about what I hated last year here. From June 18th to June 23rd in New York City was Full Figured Fashion Week, more commonly known as #FFFWeek2018. #FFFWeek is the “Oscars of Plus.” and for 10 years, Gwen Devoe and her team have worked extremely hard to provide platforms for men and women. And as a participant, the 10-year celebration was EVERYTHING. (You really had to be there, it was dope! So, let’s get to it!)

The Battle Of The Sexes

I tried to attend every event that I could, why wouldn’t I? I attended the Sip and Paint and the Battle of The Sexes event. The event proved to be interesting. It was different talking to someone for sixty seconds then moving on to another individual. MVP Collections sponsored the outfit. (Much love to entire MVP team) I decided that I wanted to wear flannel, but I also wanted to remain as cool as possible. I am 300 plus lbs and I can’t afford to sweat over everyone that I meet. (Imagine that it’s your first time meeting someone and they are sweating like they played a championship basketball game. That’s a no from me.) You can check out some of the images below:

Now, the all white cruise was incredible! The crowd really played the part. There were so many beautiful people on the boat. It was hard to find someone with a bad outfit on. Everyone came and killed. The diversity and the different styles were impressive. I was inspired by a lot of the looks that I saw.  But, most importantly the energy was amazing. It was good seeing some old faces and meeting some new people as well. The music was great, I think that I danced most of the evening too. I danced so much that I had to change my shirt, good vibes and good music will do that to you. (I wasn’t a huge fan of the food, they could have served some fried chicken and it would have been good with me! Ha!) I loved the fashion show that the women executed with precision. (Much love to the women that have been on the front lines for body positivity and fashion advocacy for years and allowing big and tall, plus and brawn men to share their platform while building our own. You can read the post on that topic here.) I also linked up with a lot of the brawn brothers and the cast of “Bae Walks.”(Bae Walks is the fashion show that features big and tall men.)

I was interviewed by the Plus Report, I enjoyed the all men panel. The all men’s panel was interesting because I learned some different perspectives in the world of big and tall men’s fashion. (To learn the perspectives of others can and will enhance us.)I even got to meet Maui of Phat Girl Fresh. After some food samples and some networking and great conversations, I had to run home and prepare for the “Bae Walks” show.

MVP Collections

FFF Week’s Bae Walks

First off can we talk about all of the brands that Gwen Devoe and team had for the event! From the Brandon Kyle Collection, Coogi, SOS Denim, MVP Collections, The Winston Box, Obioma Fashion and Designs by D’Angelo. I have to say that all of the men that were present represented and killed. Even the legend Marco Mays was on the runway. Bae Walks was co-produced by Reggie Mays. There were many designs that I loved and I had to inquire about because I want to wear them. I wanted to tell the designers “let me hold this.”So we got all of that out of the way, why was I absolutely nervous? I couldn’t tell you why, but I did the best that I could. (Let me know what you thought about the looks from the runway.)

Although I couldn’t stay as long as I would have liked to, the lingerie show was amazing. I loved to see all of the beautiful curvy women. They were confident, bold even and I was there for the smoke. Except when it was my time to walk on the runway. I got nervous (I wasn’t scared, just nervous.) But, I had the opportunity and I took advantage of the opportunity. What did you think of the walk? Is that something that you would wear? I need to know!

I wasn’t able to attend the finale of Full-Figured Fashion week due to family obligations. I am a bit upset, but family is always first. I am sure all of the models killed and much success to everyone that participated.

What I hate about FFF Week

I hate that the week seems to fly by. We know when it’s approaching, we get excited and the week is over. I am like “Come on, Son!”(In my Ed Lover voice.) It’s awesome meeting people that have similar perspectives and those that are trying to reach similar goals. I was honored to be part of the “Oscars of Plus.”I wish we could celebrate curvy women and men of size all year round. But, everything in its time. I hope to be back next year, but if not I am happy that I was able to participate for two years. You can read last years review of Full-Figured Fashion week here. Much love and respect to everyone that made the event possible. If you want to reach us feel free to email kavah.king@gentlemenscurb.com. You can give feedback on the content or if you have a topic that you want us to cover. Until next time, It’s the Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way.

Save Money: Buy a Motorbike!-The Gentlemen’s Curb

In Lifestyle On The 'Curb

The Gentlemen’s Curb

It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. We are back to share some more information with you. Motorbikes are awesome- they’re fast, they look good and they give you an adrenaline rush- as if you needed another reason to buy one! However, there is another great reason; buying a motorbike can save you money. Here are just a few reasons why.

Less Fuel

Maybe you already own a car and need to keep it. Perhaps you have a family who you need to ferry around, you might be required to drive for work or you could do lots of jobs and chores that mean you need the space that a car offers. However, chances are there are lots of other journeys that you do where a motorbike would be far handier. Maybe you’re popping out by yourself to visit a friend or family member, or are running an errand that doesn’t require you to have lots of storage space. If you only use your car for getting to and from work and don’t take any passengers, then it would be cheaper to ride a motorbike instead. Even if it’s in addition to owning a car, you could still save money on fuel overall. If you’re in a position where you don’t need a car, switching to just a motorbike would work out even cheaper.

Cheaper to Repair

Compared with cars, motorbikes are cheaper to fix. Not only that, because they’re less complex you can often do some of the work yourself if you have a little know-how. You can find all kinds of parts online, click here for more information. But even if you’re taking it to a professional garage, the cost of repairing and maintaining a bike will be far less than that of a car. The only downside is that motorbikes tend to have shorter lifespans than cars. The average car can do in excess of two hundred thousand miles in its lifetime whereas a motorcycle will probably do half of that. Something to factor in when you are biking a motorbike,

Cheaper to Tax and Insure

As well as being cheaper to run and repair, motorbikes are usually far cheaper to tax and insure than cars as well. Insurance especially is a significant cost for drivers, and if you’re struggling to keep up with these payments then switching to a motorbike could save you some serious cash. Of course, there are lots of variable factors insurers will take into consideration such as your age, driving history, model of your vehicle and even where you live. But for the most part, you can expect to pay significantly less to insure a motorbike than a car which is great when you’re looking to reduce costs. It also means that if you are buying a bike in addition to a car, you won’t be forking out ridiculous money to ensure it.

Motorbikes are so convenient, you can filter through traffic saving you time and they’re also fun to ride. Saving money might just be one part of the equation, but if you’re on the fence about buying one then it’s certainly something to take into consideration.
