As a larger guy, you’ll know that other people tend to see you as invincible. Celebrity bodyguards, for example, are almost always big, broad, powerful-looking guys; if you resemble this kind of physique, you’ll find that most people expect you to be Tough with a capital T. Couple this with the gross (but sadly frequently thought) idea that black people just don’t feel pain like white people do, and you’ll find the public perception of you is that you’re pretty much indestructible.

It’s not true though, is it? (In many cases it’s absolutely true, but here are some things to look out for.)

Physical size isn’t enough to make someone feel safe, and that feeling is backed up with the statistics. Men are more likely to be assaulted or robbed than women; black people are more likely to experience violent crime than whites. So you’re stuck in a world that sees you as invincible, but actually is more likely to victimize you. Essentially, you can’t win.

#1 – Protect yourself, especially when traveling

We all know that when we travel, we’re more likely to fall victim to issues such as mugging or pickpocketing. However, when we travel, we’re also more likely to be relaxed, and not quite as on our guard as we should be.

As a result of this, it’s always wise to make sure that you cover the need to protect yourself, and your belongings when you’re out of the country. Debate with yourself on the areas that are safe to visit in your vacation country, as well investing in a way to store valuables on your person without them being a target for thieves. If you’re feeling vulnerable, nervous, or like you’re under threat, then talk to someone about it. Sure, you might be confronted with an ignoramus who wonders why “a big guy like you feels worried” (we’ve all heard it), but your size and gender do not exclude you from concerns about your own well-being. Never, ever be afraid to ask for assistance if you need it, or just give yourself a few minutes to calm down and center yourself if you’re feeling overwhelmed. You’re a big guy, not an emotionless drone.

Discovering that you’re going to be a father is an outright strange period in your life. Lifestyle Goals To Meet This Year

It’s the Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way.We focus on fashion, fitness and lifestyle items for men of size. But, today we are going to discuss things that can apply to all men. Well, some of these points can apply to women too! We all have priorities. Some will be based on our goals, and some will be based on the rhythm of everyday life, but we all have them. You may not even realize that you make put them in place, because a lot of the time, we all choose our priorities subconsciously. It’s just something that we tend to do when we go along with our everyday lives. However, when you feel like you’re not really on track, or you’re not working towards your goals, you have to start being a bit more proactive with your priorities. When it comes to your career, there will always be personal. However, for your lifestyle, there are five key areas that you could commit to working on to better yourself.

Fitness

First up, there’s always going to be fitness. This doesn’t necessarily have to be to change your body or to lose weight, but just to feel good. Exercise is essential to great health levels. And while it’s hard to workout when you’re busy, if you can commit to doing some kind of exercise each week, you will start to notice a difference in how you feel. If you often feel sluggish and tired, then deciding to make fitness a priority is always going to be a good move for you.

Grooming

Then there’s grooming. We all want to make sure that we look and feel good, but it’s not always easy to know the best ways to approach that. As you start to make your grooming regime much more of a priority, you’ll be able to uncover new products like C & Co. and routines that will work for you. Again, this isn’t about changing who you are, but about working with what you’ve got and showing off your best self.

Knowledge

But your priorities don’t all have to be about your body, they should definitely incorporate your mind too. Because when you want to be the very best version of yourself, you should always look to better yourself. To do this, take a look at some books for personal development. Whether it’s increasing your knowledge or improving your attitude, you’ll find that this is a great move for you.

Rest

From here, you also need to prioritize rest. Because when you’re always on the go, or you’re trying to take on too much, you’re only ever going to harm yourself in the long run. Instead, you need to try and relax and enjoy yourself so that you can benefit from staying as stress-free as possible. But that will only happen if you let yourself rest.

 

Friends & Family

Above all else, you’ve also got your friends and family. Your work and your career may be important to you, so may your relationship and your immediate family circle, but you really have to work on your wider relationships too. When you make more time to see your friends and family, you’ll always feel better in yourself, and it’s great to know that you have them there and that you’re there for them too.

It’s the Gentlemen’s curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. I want to share some information about building your self-esteem. Even the most confident of people can suffer from self-esteem lows every now and again. It’s just one of those things that life seems to throw at us. Whether you’re having a bad day, or you just feel as if you’re not at your best, self-doubt can start to creep in. While you may never be able to go a day without this happening again, you can make them as minimal as possible. When it comes to working on your self-esteem, you often think that you have to change in order to be happy. But that’s not necessarily the best cure. You’re not feeling your best because of external factors, and they’re starting to drag you down – and it’s that you need to cure.

 

First of all, you’re going to want to identify what’s causing your dip in confidence. When you’re able to see what’s bringing you down, you can control it. Because you, as you as, are great. You don’t have to change anything about who you are as a person; you just need to work on how you feel about yourself. Think of it as being you, but better – the very best version of yourself. So rather than think that you need to change your look, how you act, or what you believe in, you just need to work on you. To help you do that, here are ten different ways you can look to top up your self-esteem.

 

Stop Comparing Yourself

 

First of all, we’re going to address something that so many of us do – whether we think we do, or like to admit it or not. And that’s comparing ourselves. It’s a natural occurrence, especially in this social media age. We often compare where we are in life, with where others are – or what they have, or what they look like. It’s something that you may even do subconsciously. Because we can never really compare ourselves to others, because we walk different paths. All this will do is bring you down. Drinking enough water is incredibly important to keep your body’s processes ticking over normally, so you need to make sure that you are drinking enough. While you may be incredibly busy, with some proper planning and preparation, I’m sure that you will be able to fit in a gym session somewhere in the week, even if it’s just for an hour after work one evening. We are back! It’s the Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. We give fashion, fitness and lifestyle tips usually to men of size. But for this post in particular, here are tips for ALL men. I was raised up not celebrating Valentine’s Day, but I put some thought and consideration into this post for men and women that do celebrate this day. With Valentine’s Day approaching, you might be thinking about what to get your other half. And while many people know that they don’t need one specific day a year to show love to their other half, having an excuse to be a little more romantic and generous has got to be a good thing. So if you’re not sure what to get, here are some of the things that your man may want.

Tech Gifts

There is nothing that works better for a millennial man than some technology to add to their arsenal. And there are more and more things out there to choose from. You could choose a Google Home or an Amazon Echo for a fun gadget to have around the house. You could even get them something like the North Face Etip gloves so that they can still use their smartphone and wear their gloves (great if your other half is a commuter, for instance). Of course, if you’re feeling flashy, a new camera or tablet would always go down well.

Sometimes, having a physical gift isn’t always needed. Instead, it could be an experience for him to try. How about a track racing day or a hot air balloon ride? One of my favorite brands for men of size has become the Winston Box(you can read more here). The Winston Box is a service that delivers style boxes to men of size monthly once you subscribe. The Winston Box has a factory built with the finest cotton from Peru. (Trust me when I say that it’s incredibly soft! I was honestly surprised!)

So. I wanted a bomber jacket that fit me. For some reason the other bombers that I have, I didn’t like the way that other bombers fit me. Some were too wide and too long and ultimately, I felt that they weren’t the style for me.

At The Curvy Fashionista’s Style Expo, (TCFStyleExpo) I saw a prototype of the bomber and I tried to contain my excitement since July of 2017. FINALLY, I got my hands on one and I feel even more excited and it’s definitely worth the wait.
