The Gentlemen’s Curb The ‘Curb Year In Review
(The ‘Curb Year In Review Official Big & Tall Lookbook is a lookbook that highlights brands that cater to men of size. Big & Tall, Plus Male or Brawn men, you can definitely benefit from the lookbook. Make these brands an addition to your collection.)
It’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way. First, I want to Thank God for this opportunity. I have been a blogger that models every now and then. I have been blessed with some amazing opportunities and to be absolutely honest, I am super humbled. Humility is the catalyst that helps me to push forward. You are only as good as your last post. You shouldn’t stay in the past because time is always moving. There have been many sacrifices and many ups and downs that I have been blessed to overcome. Some struggles I made public and some struggles I made private.
However, this lookbook started out as a crazy idea. I stand a man that is 6’1 and 324 pounds. The idea seemed impossible and insane. I would think to myself “it would be dope to have a lookbook for men of size.” I haven’t seen a lookbook for big and tall/plus size men. (To be fair, we have lookbooks with specific brands, but not a book highlight brands for men of size exclusively.)
It’s Isn’t Always About You
Because there are things that are bigger than me, I have to push forward. As I child, I was always bigger than a lot of my peers. Too many times, I got the “fat” jokes. So, it made me insecure. Insecure about myself, my body and especially my abilities. I felt as I had to be one of the people that pushed for size inclusion so that those behind won’t have to experience what I went through. There are people just like you doing amazing things!
But, we worked through my frustrations to bring you a book that’s the first of this kind.
Celebrate Your Accomplishments
It’s a huge accomplishment and I am extremely happy and privileged to share it with you. The pictures selected are some bold and historic photos that highlight some points of 2018.
This is an accomplishment not only for men of size but the modern man. Let’s continue to break barriers and shatter stereotypes all while being ourselves.
I want to thank all of the WOMEN who have been on the front lines of body advocacy, body positivity movement. Your courageous actions will never go unnoticed and unrecognized. Thank You.
The ‘Curb Year In Review: The Official Big And Tall Lookbook
This look features yet another image inspired by Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick Boseman is an accomplished actor. One of Boseman’s biggest roles was the role of T’challa king of Wakanda, The Black Panther. The film was a huge international and domestic success and tied into another Marvel film The Avengers. (But, you guys knew that already.)
I loved this cover and felt as if the picture spoke to me. The picture ended up being iconic in my mind and iconic I am sure in the eyes of others. Although Wakanda is a fictional place, the ideas of Wakanda resonate throughout the world. It pushes an idea, similar to Ethiopia but that’s a story for another day. Check out the images below:
The jeans are from MVP Collections. The coat is from Express, the boots are from Dr. Martens. What do you think of the look? How did we do? Until next time it’s The Gentlemen’s Curb a lifestyle blog where fashion meets fitness in a BIG way.
